The Highest Order: Seraphim are the highest choir of angels, serving as guardians and attendants before God's throne. Referenced in Isaiah 6:1-7, they continuously praise God, calling "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts."

Appearance: Seraphim have six magnificent wings - two covering their faces in reverence before God's glory, two covering their feet in humility, and two for flying. They radiate intense divine light and burning love.

Their Name: "Seraphim" means "burning ones" in Hebrew, representing the burning passion of divine love and the purification of the soul.

Sacred Role: They purify and inspire humans to worship. In Isaiah's vision, a Seraph touched his lips with a burning coal from the altar, cleansing him of sin.

Characteristics: Pure light, unconditional love, constant praise, divine fire, transformation, purification, and enlightenment.

Second Highest Order: Following Seraphim in the angelic hierarchy, Cherubim are powerful celestial guardians of God's glory and sacred wisdom. They are manlike in appearance with double wings.

Biblical History: After Adam and Eve's expulsion from Eden, God placed Cherubim with flaming swords to guard the entrance to the Garden of Eden. They also adorned the Ark of the Covenant and Solomon's Temple.

New Testament Role: In the Book of Revelation (4-6), they are considered celestial attendants in the Apocalypse, surrounding God's throne.

Appearance: Often depicted with multiple faces (human, lion, ox, and eagle), wings, and covered with eyes symbolizing all-seeing divine knowledge. Their true form is said to be beyond human comprehension.

Sacred Duty: Guardians of God's throne, keepers of celestial records, protectors of sacred spaces, and bearers of divine wisdom. They ensure divine order is maintained.

Characteristics: Wisdom, knowledge, protection, divine justice, illumination, and guardianship of sacred mysteries.

Biblical Reference: The Thrones are mentioned by the Apostle Paul in Colossians 1:16: "For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him."

Sacred Role: The Thrones are the angels of humility, peace, and submission. They serve as a bridge between God and the lower choirs of angels. If lower angels need to access God, they must go through the Thrones.

Divine Function: They are associated with God's justice and authority, carrying out divine judgment with perfect humility and submission to God's will.

Characteristics: Humility, peace, submission to divine will, justice, and serving as intermediaries between God and lower angelic orders.

Divine Order: The Dominions are responsible for keeping the world in proper order. They regulate the duties of lower angels and ensure the universe functions according to divine plan.

Sacred Mission: They are known for delivering God's justice in unjust situations, showing mercy toward human beings, and helping angels in lower ranks stay organized and perform their work efficiently.

Dual Nature: They express both unconditional love and God's justice simultaneously, balancing mercy with divine law.

Leadership Role: The Dominions embody qualities of wisdom, authority, and governance, exerting influence over both the natural world and spiritual realms.

Characteristics: Wisdom, authority, governance, divine justice, mercy, organization, and leadership over lower angelic orders.

"The Shining Ones": Virtues are known for their radiant light and are sometimes referred to as "the shining ones." They are the Spirits of Motion and assist in governing nature.

Control of Elements: These angels have control over the elements of the natural world, managing the laws of physics and the workings of creation.

Miracles and Signs: Virtues are especially known for their assistance with miracles. They work with divine power to perform signs and wonders on earth.

Encouragers of Faith: They work to encourage humans to strengthen their faith in God, often through miraculous events or powerful spiritual experiences.

Characteristics: Control of nature, miraculous intervention, radiant light, encouragement of faith, divine power, and governance of natural laws.

Warrior Angels: The Powers are considered the warrior angels of heaven. They defend against evil forces, protecting both the cosmos and humanity from demonic influence.

Authority Over Demons: They are called "Powers" because they have power over the devil and authority to restrain the power of demons. They maintain the cosmic order against forces of chaos.

Spiritual Warfare: Powers help people who are wrestling with passions, vices, and temptations to cast out any evil promoted by the enemy. They fight in spiritual battles on behalf of humanity.

Guardians of Conscience: They work to keep demons and evil spirits from overthrowing the world or souls of individuals.

Characteristics: Strength in battle, protection from evil, restraint of demonic forces, spiritual warfare, defense of the cosmos, and assistance in overcoming temptation.

Leaders of Lower Angels: The Principalities have command over the lower angels, directing them in the fulfillment of divine orders. They are also known as Princedoms or Rules.

Guardians of Groups: They directly watch over large groups and institutions, including nations, cities, and the Church. They ensure these collective bodies fulfill God's will.

Divine Administration: Principalities ensure the fulfillment of divine will on a grand scale, overseeing the implementation of God's plan for communities and nations.

Bridge to Humanity: While still wise and powerful, they are furthest from God in the angelic hierarchy, making them better able to communicate with humanity in ways we can understand.

Characteristics: Leadership over lower angels, protection of nations and institutions, administration of divine will, guardianship of the Church, and communication with humanity.

"Great Heralds of Good News": Archangels are called this because God sends them to deliver the most important messages to mankind. They are the primary communicators between God and humanity.

The Three Named Archangels:

• Michael - His name means "Who is like God?" Michael is the protector of the Church, guarding her from evil. He is most widely known for his role in expelling Lucifer from heaven. Michael delivered God's divine inspiration to John in the Book of Revelation. Call upon Michael for protection, courage, strength, and spiritual warfare.

• Gabriel - His name means "God is my strength." First mentioned in the Book of Daniel, Gabriel helped Daniel in his earthly mission. Later, Gabriel appeared to Zachariah and the Blessed Virgin Mary, delivering the greatest message ever - that God meant to become incarnate and dwell among us. Gabriel brings important news, clarity, and divine communication.

• Raphael - His name means "God heals." Mentioned in the Book of Tobit, Raphael healed Tobit and delivered Sarah from a demon. He accomplished both acts while disguised as a human, guiding Tobias along the way and instructing him on what to do. Call upon Raphael for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

Their Sacred Work: Delivering divine messages, fighting spiritual battles, guiding humanity through major life events, performing miracles, and assisting in times of great need.

Closest to Humanity: Angels are the closest to the material world and human beings. They are the most numerous of all the angelic orders and work most directly with people on earth.

Divine Messengers: They deliver prayers to God and bring messages from heaven to people on earth. They act as intermediaries between the divine and human realms.

Guardian Angels: Each person is believed to have at least one guardian angel assigned from birth. These angels hold a special place in Christian belief, tasked with watching over and protecting individuals throughout their lives.

Most Caring and Social: One of the greatest characteristics of angels is that they are the most caring and social, ready to assist those who ask for help. They offer guidance, comfort, and divine intervention in times of need.

How They Communicate:
• Intuitive feelings and "gut instincts"
• Finding feathers in unexpected places
• Seeing repeating number sequences (angel numbers)
• Dreams and visions
• Sudden feelings of peace or comfort
• "Coincidences" and synchronicities
• That gentle inner voice of wisdom

How to Connect: Simply talk to them! They hear your thoughts and prayers. Ask for help, express gratitude, and pay attention to signs. They respect your free will but are always ready to help when asked.

Biblical Promise: "The Lord will give His angels charge of you to protect you in all your ways" (Psalm 91:11). "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so, you have unwittingly entertained angels" (Hebrews 13:2).
